Neighborhood Trickery Transforms Into A Community Fundraiser
We know that poverty, and the crushing lack of opportunity associated with it, is an intergenerational phenomenon impacting far too many Mobilians. Fuse Project, through partnership with The Historic Avenue Foundation, is on a mission to close the opportunity gap. Our annual fundraising campaign, Light the Fuse, seeks to engage the community and raise awareness of our mission through a series of public and private events, a team fundraising challenge, and more. But Light the Fuse is not simply a fundraising campaign. It is a lifesaving campaign. We are literally fighting for the lives of our children, but we cannot do it without YOU. Help us fuel our efforts to break the cycle of poverty and close the opportunity gap with Light the Fuse.
Here's how:
Starting in November, we will launch a month-long peer-to-peer fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $50,000 to support education, housing, and wellness initiatives in the Avenue community. Be sure to subscribe to our mailing list to receive information on how you can participate, compete to win some awesome prizes, and make a truly meaningful impact. We are launching this year’s Light the Fuse campaign event series with our current BOO! Project sponsored by Print King.

BOO! Project Impact Made Possible by Our volunteers and sponsors
For FUNdraisers such as BOO! Project to be a success, we rely on the generosity of our community partners. We are thankful that so many businesses and individuals in our area are passionate about giving back to their local community. The impact Fuse Project is able to make is due in part to local businesses and volunteers who are eager to help be a part of the solution with us.
We want to give a huge shoutout and spooktacular thanks to our incredible friends, board members, Order of Fuse members, and volunteers from Doing Good in the Neighborhood at South Coast Church who have lent their hands and hearts to help us stuff BOO! Bags and deliver BOO! Kits since the launch of BOO! Project 2023. Thanks for your help spreading smiles and spooky spirit far and wide.
We are especially thankful to our BOO! Project sponsors - Print King, Gulf Ortho, Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, and Drug Education Council.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office
“It takes a partnership of committed citizens who are willing to help in our communities, neighborhoods, and media.”
We are grateful for our continued partnership with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office to work together to make our community stronger, safer, better. (Click here to see photos of their epic performance in the 3rd annual Lip Sync Battle)
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is the second largest in the state, with a staff of over 600 serving more than 400,000 citizens across an area of some 1,200 square miles. The Sheriff’s Office serves through four divisions: administrative services, field operations, support services and correction. Their correction division which operates the Mobile Metro Jail, has an average daily population of some 1500. To best fight crime while saving taxpayers millions of dollars, the Sheriff’s Office also administers a 325-bed minimum security barracks that houses prisoners who are put to work to earn their keep. The fight against crime requires constant updates of technology, from text-based citizen reporting methods to Smart Policing. This concept utilizes crime analysis to identify trends and crime “hot spots” to best allocate resources. All of these services are overseen from the office’s administration building, located near Metro Jail at 510 South Royal Street in downtown Mobile. The office’s infrastructure, technology and workforce are all designed with future expansion and responsiveness in mind.
