EDUCATION IN THE AVENUE

Mission

The goal of The Avenue Bridge Collaboration (ABC) Program is to advance equity in education, and we believe that all children deserve access to transformational and equitable learning opportunities. We aim to enhance and expand the current education pipeline in the Avenue community through accessible programming that impacts each child’s unique abilities and experiences. We exist to bridge the educational gap while ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed in all areas of their life.

ABC Academic Support

The ABC Academic Support Program operates in three Mobile County Public Schools located in the Avenue—Florence Howard Elementary, Calloway-Smith Middle School, and Pathway K-5. Our goal is to bridge educational disparities for teachers and students by providing supplemental resources, such as academic and extracurricular clubs, student incentives, mentoring programs, and teacher appreciation events. Through these diverse avenues for student engagement and teacher recognition, we create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth.

ABC EARLY LEARNING

COMING SOON!

Mission

The ABC Early Learning Program’s mission is to provide high-quality learning experiences that focus on the whole child in order to meet their social, emotional, and academic learning needs.

The first few years of life are a time of critical brain development. In fact, 90% of brain development occurs by the age of five.

Set to open in the next year, The ABC Early Learning Program will provide three-year-olds with access to quality early education which is a crucial component of a thriving community. By offering a safe and nurturing learning environment, children have the opportunity to receive a strong educational foundation, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

The ABC Early Learning Program is more than an educational facility; it serves as a community hub, bringing together members of the community to support children's holistic development. The program will host workshops for parents, neighborhood clean-ups, and community days. Through these efforts, the center becomes a place of gathering, fostering a culture of community.
