Light the Fuse 2021 Recap

November was a milestone month for Fuse Project. We hosted our first-ever annual fundraising campaign, Light the Fuse, in which funds were raised for the development of The Historic Avenue Foundation’s early learning program scheduled to launch in May of 2022.

Monday, November 7, we kicked the week off with a campaign launch and beer release party at Old Majestic Brewing Company where we introduced the public to the beer that gives back, Fuse Project Hazy Pale Ale. Carefully crafted by Old Majestic, this fresh and juicy craft brew has a spark of pineapple flavor, perfect for any occasion. The launch party also featured live music with Jamell Richardson and shopping with Polish Boutique who also donated a portion of sales from the event to Light the Fuse. The campaign and beer launch on Monday was followed up with online fundraising and a week-long series of events.

Tuesday featured an adult hip-hop class hosted by past Fuse Project grant recipient, Dance Without Limits. We had a great turnout for this booty-shaking event and are so thankful to partners like Kerrie Benson and Dance Without Limits Foundation. Dance Without Limits (DWL) strives to provide professional dance instruction to all special needs individuals – regardless of their dis”ability.” To learn more about their mission and what they do, visit their website.

Wednesday was family dinner night at Moe’s Original BBQ located in downtown Mobile. They graciously donated a portion of all sales from dinner service that night to the Light the Fuse campaign. They even had some of our Fuse Project beer available for purchase too!

Thursday night was packed with all sorts of fun! Cycle Circuit and Taco Mama teamed up to offer a spin class followed by a taco and margarita bar and Bienville Bites gave a special downtown Mobile food tour to benefit Light the Fuse that included a tasting of our Fuse Project Hazy Pale Ale.

Saturday morning we wrapped up the week with a weekend unwind yoga class led by Alison Herlihy of Kindred Yoga. It was a great way to relax and refresh from a full week of fun and fundraising activities.

All week long The Peacock Lounge (located inside Antiques at the Loop) donated 10% of all sales and 100% of sales from their specialty “Fuse” chartreuse refurbished dresser.

Additionally, tickets for our upcoming Mardi Gras Feast presented by The Scout Guide at The Fairhope Inn on January 26, 2022, went on sale. This seated dinner benefiting Fuse Project will feature an exquisite 4-course meal prepared by executive chef Johnathan McKinley and be paired with selected fine wines. Tickets are $125 per person. Don’t hesitate to get yours now; seats at this exclusive event will be limited!

Our top fundraiser for the week was Fuse Project board member, Spencer Tuell! Spencer was able to bring in a staggering $7,000 for Light the Fuse and won a mini stay-cation at the Battle House hotel.

We want to thank everyone who attended an event, shared our posts, donated, and fundraised for us during our Light the Fuse campaign. In total, we have raised $50,335 (and counting) of our $50,000 goal! We are so fortunate to have such support from our community. We’d like to especially thank our campaign sponsor, PNC Bank, and all our event hosts for helping us make this a memorable week.
