Order of Fuse: Giving Back in a Unique Way

Order of Fuse is a group of diverse professionals who want to give back to their community in a unique way. Membership provides an opportunity to meet new people, support our mission, enjoy great social events, and partake in community outreach.

Lip Sync Battle 2023

As always, our amazing Order of Fuse volunteers helped us out for our annual Lip Sync Battle by forming a team and competing, joining our advisory committee, and volunteering for the event. We thank you all for your time and dedication which goes above and beyond for an event production like this. We are so grateful to have such a passionate group of difference-makers in our corner.

Spring Soiree

At this year’s Order of Fuse Spring Soiree, we had a fun-filled afternoon with live entertainment, food, and libations at Belforest Pointe while toasting the impact we’ve made this year and celebrating the future of this difference-making organization! We had entertainment by Symone French, balloon decor by The Pop Shop, food by Martha May’s, and libations served via Brew Bus by Bottles Up.

Our Spring Soiree also included our Annual Meeting and recap of our member year (fall 2022 - spring 2023). To view a PDF of the full presentation, click here.

Order of Fuse membership impacts a child's future!

Last year, Order of Fuse granted $25,000 to The Cookery Project who, in the 2022-2023 academic year, partnered with Florence Howard Elementary School to provide brand new garden beds, three aeroponic garden towers for the school, a monthly Garden Club for 50+ students, and a monthly Cooking Club for 50+ students. The Cookery Project’s mission is to engage and empower children through food sourcing, nutrition education, and culinary experiences. Children participating in these clubs not only discovered the joy of creating delicious meals but also acquired important life skills that extend beyond the kitchen. Through engaging hands-on activities and guided instruction by The Cookery Project, students learned about the Food Traffic Light system (red, yellow, green for hierarchy of healthy foods), learning to life skills (chopping, mixing, measuring which incorporate important math skills), recipe cards (reading and following instructions), appreciation for healthy eating, and growth of self-confidence and independence. Thanks to Order of Fuse, clubs will continue next year with The Cookery Project at Florence Howard Elementary School.

In May of this year, Order of Fuse awarded another $25,000 grant to The Historic Avenue Foundation ABC Program to provide academic support to three schools in the Avenue community - Florence Howard Elementary, Calloway-Smith Middle, and Pathway K-5. This academic support will include funding for learning incentives, the continuation of school clubs (Linking Learning to Life Clubs), and teacher appreciation. We believe in working together, hand in hand, with the community to provide opportunities and incentives for students and teachers to reach their goals.
