Alabama Leadership Initiative
We are so incredibly proud of our Executive Director, Ann-Brooks Morrissette, for being among 59 distinguished participants from across the state, selected through a competitive nomination process, to graduate from the Alabama Leadership Initiative Class IV. Started in 2017 to offer young professionals the opportunity to develop personal leadership skills and establish ongoing relationships with other young leaders across the state, ALI is a six-month program comprised of three two-day retreats. Through ALI, this group of young leaders were exposed to the decision makers in Alabama who are sensitive to the challenges we face as a state and provided the unique opportunity to step inside the circles of those who mold the future of our state, including having had the opportunity to hear from Bryan Stephenson of the Equal Justice Initiative after touring The Legacy Museum.
“We made the absolute most of our time in Montgomery, Birmingham, and The Shoals, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this program. The leadership skills and knowledge gained from the presenters will help me improve as a nonprofit leader in our community; however, it is the relationships formed with classmates that are truly invaluable. This group of young leaders has unlimited potential to shape our state and I am excited to see what the future holds for our class!”
